International Football for Friendship Coaches Academy is an online free educational platform related to work with coaches of youth football teams, collecting theoretical knowledge and practical tools from experts from all over the world. The training course was developed by the authors of the sports and humanitarian educational programs of the Football for Friendship programme – the leaders of the educational process and the coaches of the FC Barcelona Academy, experts of the FIFA humanitarian programs and UEFA. Young Participants and coaches of previous seasons of the Football for Friendship programme from India, Finland, Slovenia, Pakistan, Aruba, Ghana, Wales, Madagascar, Russia, as well as football players and coordinators of FC Zenit, FC Schalke 04, Celtic F.C., FC Alkmaar, and others, representatives of football federations from Russia, Brazil, Pakistan, Peru, Uruguay, Spain.

The International Football for Friendship Coaches Academy was developed based on the successful experience we have gained within the previous seasons of the Football for Friendship programme. Since 2013, the programme has been supported by FIFA, UEFA, Olympic and Paralympic Committees, football federations, children’s foundations, hundreds of famous athletes, and thousands of journalists around the globe. The Football for Friendship programme has local and international awards for complexity and high-level social responsibility.

We launch an online course for those who want to become a role model for their team – at the Academy, you will develop skills that will help you to build team communication based on respect. Over the years of its existence, the Football for Friendship programme has accumulated extensive experience in work with children representing different cultures, races, and ethnicities and in the creation of mixed football teams in which both girls and boys, as well as kids, with disabilities play together.

The learning materials of the Academy are available in 10 languages: English, Russian, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Turkish, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi.

How to Learn

To pass the course, you will need access to the Internet, facilities for homework assignments (notebook and pen). Each lesson lasts 20-25 minutes, completing the entire course requires about a week. The course is built according to the “Learn through doing” principle. Before every lesson, simple instructions from specialists in working with kids, as well as examples of exercises and sports experts’ case studies, will be attached.

In total, there are 27 lessons combined in 4 modules. Each lesson contains a theoretical basis and practical task on the following topics:

Module 1 — How to teach values
Module 2 — How to train mixed teams
Module 3 — Trainers’ lifehacks for coaches of children football
Module 4 — Key aspects of sports management n children’s football.

Each lesson contains simple instructions from specialists working with children as well as examples of exercises that a coach can do with students. Exercises are developed in accordance with recommendations of the experts and the unique experience of previous seasons of the Football for Friendship programme.

At the end of each lesson, coaches will be offered practical homework. The interactive nature of the tasks allows you to easily and quickly learn the material and test new knowledge of teaching in action.

The course also includes a test which puts a finishing touch to whole the course. When you complete the course, you will get an e-certificate.

After Completing the Course, You Will Be Able To:

  • independently organize activities for children to promote key life values;

  • create conditions for efficient communication between children of different nationalities and cultures;

  • provide a safe, accessible environment for all students;

  • create your own training methodology, design an annual plan;

  • organize sports events and find support for them;

  • become a role model for your team.

Gazprom International Children’s Social Programme Football for Friendship

International Children’s Social Programme Football for Friendship has been implemented by Gazprom Company since 2013. The core values promoted by the programme are friendship, equality, fairness, health, peace, devotion, victory, tradition, and honour. Participants of the programme include Young Players (boys and girls, including those with disabilities and special needs), as well as Young Journalists covering the events of Football for Friendship at the International Children's Press Center. Over the past seven years, more than 6 thousand boys and girls from 211 countries and regions have participated in the programme, and more than 5 million people in the world are wearing Friendship Bracelets.
